Objetivo: Proponer una intervención educativa en el cuidado del catéter totalmente
implantado dirigida al personal de enfermería en un hospital pediátrico. Material y
método: El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, transversal, descriptivo desarrollado en
el municipio de Emiliano Zapata en un hospital pediátrico. Se aplico un cuestionario
de 30 ítem a 60 enfermeras que trabajan en dicha institución con la finalidad de
medir en nivel de conocimiento con el que cuentan. Resultado: El nivel de
conocimiento que tiene el personal de enfermería en el cuidado del catéter
totalmente implantado obtiene un 14% en conocimiento bajo, un 45,3% un nivel
regular y 40,6% un nivel alto Conclusiones: La capacitación continua fortalece la
buena praxis en el cuidado de los pacientes que portan un catéter totalmente
implantado debido a que este dispositivo permite un adecuado y sencillo abordaje

Objective: To propose an educative intervention in the care of the catheter totally
implanted directed to the nursing personnel in a pediatric. Material and method:
The study is of quantitative, transversal, descriptive type developed in the
municipality of Emiliano Zapata in a pediatric hospital. A questionnaire of 30 items
was applied to 60 nurses who work in this institution in order to measure the level of
knowledge they have. Result: The level of knowledge that nurses have in the care
