ABSTRACT Title. Evaluation of nursing intervention to the newborn with continuous positive airway pressure Introduction. In this study we make an assessment of the intervention by the nursing staff in those neonates who use continuous positive pressure to the airway, an immersion is made in the literature to be able to have the best possible evidence in the care provided to this type of patients in a neonatal special care area in order to minimize the possible complications of these patients, addresses the nursing theory of Patricia Benner which provides us with the evolution of nursing care according to the skills and knowledge that the nursing staff is acquiring in their professional life. Objective. Identify the nursing care provided by the staff, in the UCEN service and the pediatric service in a General Hospital of the second level of care in the State of Morelos. Methodology. It is a quantitative observational, descriptive, correlational, prospective study. Results. The process of assessment of intrahospital care shows from the Donabedian Model in its process the "Structure" that details the provision of infrastructure, material and equipment to ensure quality care and procedures, the result of which is satisfactory for patients: of the resources available to the nursing staff of the "Special Neonatal Care Unit" mention in detail the following that this has a great impact with the knowledge and skills of the personnel assigned to the hospital. Discussion. It is important to mention that the group studied by means of a questionnaire and the observation of it, shows that most of the personnel that perform professionally in the UCEN have the necessary knowledge to approach neonates who use nasal CPAP but it is not in addition, the updating of knowledge for the use of this. Conclusions. This study allows us to evaluate the interventions that the nursing professional carries out with neonates that require continuous positive pressure to the airway, observing that the personnel has the necessary knowledge because the majority of the results obtained are greater than 80% and those that. Some of them are not a function of nursing but of the medical function and only nursing needs them for their knowledge.
