Intervención educativa sobre conductas de riesgo del Virus del Papiloma Humano en alumnos universitarios

Resumen El Virus del Papiloma Humano es una infección que actualmente se considera una problemática mundial por su aumento en la incidencia en los adolescentes en edades cada vez más tempranas ya que se encuentran más vulnerables al riesgo, por esta razón, la prevención, a través de la educación, es fundamental para lograr la reducción de casos futuros. Teniendo en cuanta esta problemática se realizó la intervención educativa con una muestra de 37 alumnos universitarios de ambos sexos, teniendo como objetivo: Evaluar la intervención educativa sobre conductas de riesgo del Virus del Papiloma Humano en alumnos Universitarios durante el periodo del mes de noviembre del 2017. Método. Es una investigación de tipo Cuantitativo, cuasiexperimental, ya que se realizó una evaluación pre y post intervención educativa; posterior se llevó a cabo un análisis de los datos obtenidos. La intervención se fundamenta en la teoría de Nola J. Pender que ayuda a cumplir el rol que ejerce el profesional de Enfermería ante esta problemática, como la educación que ayude a los adolescentes a su autocuidado en su salud sexual. Al finalizar la intervención, se constató un incremento de los conocimientos de los mismos acerca del VPH, lo cual indica una necesaria implementación en la labor educativa. Resultados. De los 37 alumnos el 86% ya tienen una vida sexual activa, y 54% mencionaron que han tenido de 1 – 3 parejas sexuales, antes de la intervención solo el 32,4 % utilizaba el condón como medida de prevención de una ITS y posterior a la intervención incremento al 81%. El nivel de conocimiento de los alumnos antes de la intervención referente al VPH fue 78,4% y posterior a la intervención incremento el conocimiento 91.9%. Conclusión. La implementación de la intervención educativa referente a educación sexual es un procedimiento altamente efectivo de prevención, que tiene un resultado positivo con los adolescentes.

Abstract The Human Papilloma Virus is an infection that is currently considered a global problem due to its increased incidence in adolescents at younger and younger ages since they are more vulnerable to risk, for this reason, prevention, through the education, it is essential to achieve the reduction of future cases. Objective: To evaluate the educational intervention on risk behaviors of the Human Papilloma Virus in University students during the period of November 2017. Method. It is a quantitative, quasi-experimental type of research, since an educational pre and post intervention evaluation was carried out; subsequently, an analysis of the data obtained was carried out. The proposal is based on the theory of Nola Pender that helps fulfill the role played by the nursing professional in the face of this problem, such as education that helps adolescents to self-care in their sexual health. At the end of the intervention, there was an increase in their knowledge about HPV, which indicates a necessary implementation in the educational work. Results of the 37 students, 86% already have an active sex life, and 54% mentioned that they had 1-3 sex partners, before the intervention only 32.4% used the condom as a means of preventing an STI and later to the intervention increase to 81%. The level of knowledge of the students before the intervention regarding HPV was 78.4% and after the intervention increased the knowledge 91.9%.Conclusion. The implementation of educational interventions regarding sexual education is a highly effective prevention procedure, which has a positive result with adolescents.
