La lengua de Cervantes

AGUSTIN RIVERO FRANYUTTI

We all know that the Spanish language is also known by the synonymous expression “the language of Cervantes”. It is also known that the largest institution in charge of teaching the Span- ish language to all the speakers of other languages in practically all the countries of the planet is called “Instituto Cervantes”.Since in the year 2021 we celebrate the 405th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, it seems very opportune to recall what was the ideal language of that great writer who has given his name to the language we speak, which today is the third in terms of importance and number of speakers worldwide, only behind Mandarin Chinese and English.
