En las décadas de 1970 y 1980, la crítica académica de las nociones de sujeto e identidad alcanzó su apogeo. Sin embargo, a finales del siglo xx este último concepto no sólo no se había podido abolir, sino que resurgía con fuerza. Los grupos en lucha por su derecho a existir necesitaban configurar una narración de la identidad para diferenciarse de los demás. Pero existen otras causales que habría que desbrozar para entender el crecimiento del interés por la identidad: los desarrollos tecnológicos han propiciado la autorrepresentación y los cuestionamientos sobre la identidad. Las nociones de sujeto e identidad no han desaparecido, pero tampoco pueden ser comprendidas en el marco en el que se generaron. En las siguientes líneas se plantea que algunas manifestaciones literarias autobiográficas que se alejan del impulso narcisista promovido por las redes sociales a través de las pantallas, tesis que ha irrumpido fuertemente en el siglo actual.

In the 1970s and 1980s, academic critique of notions of subject and identity reached its zenith. However, at the end of the 20th century, this last concept had not only been unable to be abolished, but was re-emerging with force. The groups fighting for their right to exist needed to configure a narrative of identity to differentiate themselves from others. But there are other causes that should be cleared up to understand the growth of interest in identity: technological developments have fostered self-representation and questions about identity. The notions of subject and identity have not disappeared, but neither can they be understood within the framework in which they were generated. In the following lines it is proposed that some autobiographical literary manifestations move away from the narcissistic impulse promoted by social networks through the screens, a thesis that has strongly burst into the current century.
