EDUARDO AARON CHAVEZ RAMIREZ

Abstract The Huautla region, in Tlaquiltenango, Morelos, Mexico has an estimated 780 thousand tons of mine tailings from now suspended mining activity. These contain heavy metals which can have negative effects on the composition, dominance, richness and diversity of biological communities. The effects of heavy metals have been studied for several biological groups, but anurans had not been analyzed. We report on heavy metal concentrations (Zn, Fe, Cr, Cd, Pb) in water from the Huautla river, and discuss their potential effects on the anuran community The average concentration range (mg / L) in water for Pb ranged from 2,628 to 5,079 mg / L; for Cd it was from 0.093 to 0.108 mg / L; for Cu it was from 1,262 to 1,716 mg / L; for Mn it was from 0.000 to 0.424 mg / L and the Zn were from 0.038 to 0.159 mg / L. The variations in Fe and Cr were not detected. The Pb figures were above that established in NOM-001-SEMARNAT- 1996, Cd, Cu, Mn, and Zn accounted for within the boundary at all sites. In sediment, the average concentration range of Fe was from 126,473 to 234,188 mg / L; for Cr it was from 1,966 to 1,002 mg / L; for Mn it was from 0.479 to 1.617 mg / L; for Zn it was from 1,737 to 5,979 mg / L; for Cu it was from 0.061 to 0.375 mg / L. No average variations of Cu were detected for S2 and S3. Pb and Cd were not detected in sediments. IMC demonstrates the presence of a heavy metals contamination gradient in water and sediments (S1> S2> S3> S4> S5). This is bioaccumulation of Pb, Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe and Cd in the liver of the four species of anurans in the study area. The average bioaccumulation Pb was 2,045 to 0.081 mg / Kg, (S4> S3> S2> S5> S1); for Fe it was from 29,216 to 9,707 mg / Kg (S5> S1> S3> S2> S4); for Cu it was from 0.433 to 0.035 mg / Kg (S5> S4> S1> S2> S3); for Zn it was from 4,856 to 0.432 mg / Kg (S5> S4> S1> S2> S3); for Mn it was from 0.239 to 0.15 mg / Kg (S2> S3> S4> S5> S1). In total, nine species of anurans contained in eight genera and five families were recorded during the rainy season of 2018 and 2019. There was a pattern of increase in the diversity values of Shannon (S4> S5> S2> S2> S1) and Simpson (S1> S2> S3> S4> S5) according to the proximity to the jal. Dominance presented a pattern of increase as sites were further away from the jal. The observed pattern for equity values (S5> S4> S3> S2> S1) indicates that equity was greater at the tail end and downstream point of the tail. This work provides information with high scientific value since it is the first study that analyzes the concentration of bioaccumulated MP in the liver of anurans and its potential effects on the structure of the community, also demonstrates the presence of a contamination gradient of the mixture. of heavy metals concentrated in the water and sediments of the Huautla River.
